The state Appellate Division suspended Michael Bressler earlier this
year "based upon his substantial admissions under oath that he had committed
professional misconduct."
Formal charges are still pending, and could result in his disbarment.
Bressler, a lawyer since 1993, didn't return calls for comment.
The misconduct finding included one incident where Bressler "intentionally
misled a client into believing that he had commenced an action on the client's
behalf" in Manhattan federal court, "when in fact he had not."
"In addition, his neglect of two other client matters resulted in the
dismissal of the clients' complaints," the decision said.
Steve Strum, 57, who is suing Bressler for malpractice, said the same
thing happened to him.

"He threw my case," said Strum.
Bressler assured him his wrongful-termination case was going well -
he'd successfully fought off the city's motion to throw the case out, and
hired private investigators and a handwriting expert, the malpractice suit
says.
