Suspensions, interim suspensions and inactive enrollments in this category are not disciplinary in nature and can be imposed upon California attorneys by the State Bar Court or, in some instances, by the State Bar of California. However, these suspensions, interim suspensions or inactive enrollments will change the membership status of an attorney from "active member" to "not entitled to practice law" during the period of suspension, interim suspension or inactive enrollment.
