CLR has received reports that attorneys from the Law Offices of Wes Cowell, P.C. abandons their clients. Further, it has been reported to CLR that clients have charged with excessive fee billing, not returning documents to the client, misrepresentation, concealment of documents, possible discrimination, and in the opinion of several people, have possibly engaged in the act of extortion.

CLR has recently received an email re Law Offices of Wes Cowell, PC, which stated:

We have run across countless people in our multi-year long battle who deserve to be disbarred, but when we came to Wes Cowell, our opinion of him and his firm could not be lower. He is scum, he lied to us countless times, employed illegal tactics to extort monies from us and simply never intended to provide competent legal representation, locking us up in futile motions and neglecting to perform even the most basic of duties (depositions, phone calls, etc.). Even refusing to return phone calls for months at a time. Mr. Cowell, against our agreements and conversations, did not appear on behalf of us in court himself, instead sending his colleagues who knew nothing at best. In effect completely compromising our legal stance.

He is a liar, a cheat, and above all else a man of no conscience or morals. Wes Cowell should be ashamed!

On April 8, 2003, a Disciplinary complaint has been filed against Wes Cowell.

Wes Cowell admitted his engaging in misconduct, and further admitted that he was an alcoholic. Wes Cowell was suspended from the practice of law for a period of one year until further order of the court, staying all but the first sixty days of such suspension by a period of probation, provided that he complies with conditions of probation, including therapy with a mental health professional, and shall engage in a course of marital treatment/counseling, etc.

On August 10, 2008, CLR received the following email:

I was financially ruined by Wes Cowell & his henchmen. Lost my house, part of teacher pension & only 4 years spousal support for a 32 year marriage.

He lied & he cheated me out of a fair settlement. I will NEVER recover from his mistakes.
