DETROIT -- Grosse Pointe Woods attorney Sue Radulovich has been suspended for 120 days by the Michigan Attorney Grievance Commission.
Radulovich was handed the suspension by the board on several counts of professional misconduct by the board.
"This case reveals Miss Radulovich's pattern of failing to obey the directives of the judges," said Dina Dajani, the counsel for the grievance administrator.
Radulovich was not available for comment despite repeated attempts to contact her.
According to the board, Radulovich:
Was held in contempt by the Wayne County Circuit Court for obtaining a mortgage against a Garden City home that then-Wayne County Judge Dalton Roberson advised her not to because the home was the subject of a judgment in a 1989 case. The mortgage was obtained on a home that was owned by Radulovich's client, according to Dajani. The client allowed Radulovich to obtain a mortgage to pay his legal fees.
Brought a lawsuit against the court-appointed receiver in the matter concerning the Garden City property.
Disobeyed a court order to discharge a lis pendens (notice of pending action) and filed a complaint that had no merit in her capacity as a plaintiff in a lawsuit involving a neighbor.
Filed a lawsuit alleging defamation against one of the individuals who testified against her in the real estate lawsuit involving a neighbor.
The Grievance Commission filed the case against Radulovich on Nov. 17, 2006. A hearing on the matter was heard July 19.
The suspension was announced Sept. 18. Radulovich will begin the suspension Oct. 17 unless she files a stay of the suspension with the Michigan Supreme Court.
Royal Oak attorney David Findling, the court-appointed receiver for the Garden City property for which Radulovich sought a mortgage, said, "It is unfortunate that Miss Radulovich fails to comply with the same laws that she seeks to enforce."
