March 9, 1998 Ms. Mary Robinson, Administrator Attorney Registration and Disciplinary Commission 130 E. Randolph Dr. - #1500 Chicago, IL 60601-6219 Dear Ms. Robinson: Re: Edward Robert Vrdolyak, 98-CH-00017 Daley and George, Ltd., 92-CI-481We question why the ARDC is charging Edward Vrdolyak with "entering into a business transaction with clients without full disclosure in violation of Rule 1.8(a) of the Illinois Rules of Professional Conduct", when the ARDC refused to bring such charges against Michael Daley, John George, and the law firm of Daley and George, Ltd. when they entered into a business transaction with their client (Commission No. 92-CI-481, Commission No. 97-FP-3516, and MR-14189).
We believe that the same charges should be brought against both Vrdolyak and the law firm of Daley & George, Ltd, Michael Daley, John J. George and the other attorneys involved in Commission No. 92-CI-481 in the similar charges of misconduct.
Why is the ARDC applying different standards of conduct to Vrdolyak and to the lawfirm of Daley and George, Ltd, and their attorneys?
