Educational Services

Citizens members are not lawyers; Citizens is not a lawyer referral service. Neither Citizens nor its members provide legal services. However, many members have researched their cases, have represented themselves in court, and have an in depth knowledge of the law and the conduct of those who are registered to "practice" and uphold the law. You can learn from these Citizens' members.

While the law requires a litigant to follow his case, in many instances both the judge and the litigant's attorney interfere with the litigant's legal duty. Members will inform other members of the litigant's requirements.

Members may suggest attorneys they do not recommend, and Citizens maintains a database on attorneys, law firms, and judges who have been disciplined, sued for legal malpractice, who may not lawfully practice law for various reasons, who have been incarcerated, and who have had charges made against them by litigants.

If requested, members will assist other members in reviewing attorney retainer agreements, and attorney fee invoices or petitions. Members may assist other members in filing attorney misconduct charges against a member's attorney, and advise the member on the rules for attorney misconduct.
