Justice Alan Greiman, Chairman
Executive Committee
First District Appellate Court
160 N. LaSalle St.
Chicago, IL 60601
Dear Justice Greiman:
This letter is addressed to you as Chairman of the Executive Committee of the First District Appellate Court.
I have today filed a MOTION TO RECONSIDER THIS COURT'S ORDER DATED AUGUST 13, 1998 relative to the Justices O'Brien, Hoffman, and Theis' personal involvement with the 735 ILCS 5/2-1401(f) Motion to Vacate the Void Order issued in case no. 1-92-2905 (consolidated) and for the Justices acting without lawful authority.
At the current time, Judicial Inquiry Board complaints have been filed against all three Justices. On July 17, 1998 I presented each of the Justices with a copy of the complaint filed against them, and I have published copies of the complaints on the Internet. I believe it would be inappropriate and a conflict of interest under the circumstances for either Justice O'Brien, Hoffman, or Theis to hear or act on the 1401(f) motion.
I believe that under Rule 63(C) of the Code of Judicial Conduct the Justices must disqualify themselves. Otherwise they will force me to file and publish additional judicial misconduct charges against them.
They have brought themselves and the entire Illinois judiciary into public disrepute.
May I presume that the Justices will not force me to make this anymore public than they have forced me to do already?
Yours truly,
Eugene Alpern
