April 14, 1998 Judge Veronica B. Mathein 3009 Richard J. Daley Center Chicago, IL Dear Judge Mathein:I am enclosing a copy of the MOTION TO VACATE THE VOID ORDER ISSUED BY JUDGE VERONICA B. MATHEIN ON MARCH 10, 1998.
Your order calls for a hearing before you on April 16, 1998 at 2:00 p.m. in Room 3009.
Since you issued the March 10, 1998 order in an ex-parte, secret and unlawful hearing, a hearing without notice to me and without an opportunity for me to be heard, and a hearing based on another void order, I will not participate with you, nor assist you, in making a mockery of the Court by appearing in a sham proceeding, and bringing the Court in disrepute.
Your purported order violates both Illinois and Federal law.
I will supplement the currently outstanding PETITION FOR SUBSTITUTION OF JUDGE FOR CAUSE PURSUANT TO 735 ILCS 5/2- 1001(a)(3) of Judge Mathein with the additional charges in the enclosed Motion. Upon completion of the supplement, I will present it before Presiding Judge Timothy Evans for a proper and lawful hearing.
I suggest that you consider vacating/expunging the void order of March 10, 1998, and sua sponte recusing yourself from case no. 91-D-5122.
