On or about April 5, 1992, Wayne T. Chaney appeared before Cook County Associate Judge Sheila M. O'Brien for release from jail for continuously violating an order of protection obtained from his former wife, Connie Chaney. One of the charges against Wayne Chaney was that he raped his former wife at gunpoint. Associate Judge Sheila M. O'Brien reduced Chaney's bond from $300,000. to $100,000., despite the strong objections of prosecutors who said he had violated a court order of protection and posed a threat to his wife. Chaney posted the required 10 percent of the bond and was released.
Upon his release from jail by then Associate Judge Sheila M. O'Brien, Wayne Chaney proceeded to murder his former wife.
For her connivance in the murder of Connie Chaney, Associate Judge Sheila M. O'Brien was eventually slated to be a Justice of the First District Appellate Court.
Continuing her judicial incompetence and judicial misconduct, Sheila M. O'Brien has continued to engage in unlawful acts and in acts of treason. She has continued to prove that she does not know the law, and that she has not complied with the law.
